Professionals International Network
The
Young Professionals International Network (YPIN) offers activities
and social events geared especially to the interests of our members
in their 20s and 30s. The group is designed for younger associates
in business or other professional career tracks, students, and others
with ties to or interest in international affairs and cultures.
YPIN introduces young people to the work of the World Affairs Council
and YPIN members show their support of international engagement
by becoming members at a low-cost, introductory rate.

YPIN
Evening Discussion with Young Muslim Leaders
YPIN is run by a volunteer board and fills a unique
niche in Seattle’s “young professional” scene.
Unlike organizations such as Space City Mixer, it does not serve
a purely social or networking purpose. Nor does it focus primarily
on community service, such as Seattle Works or BEAN. Rather, it
brings together a very diverse group of 20- and 30-somethings with
intellectual curiosity, a wide range of backgrounds and opinions,
and an interest in engaging the world around them. YPIN serves this
large community by planning and hosting a wide range of events,
language groups, and discussions. YPIN is run in cooperation with
the World Affairs Council as staff assists with promotion and registrations.
The fantastic board of event planners organize the speakers, venues,
finances, and other logistics of these fun and engaging events.
YPIN is coordinated by an all-volunteer board of young professionals
from the business, government, and non-profit sectors. The board
meets monthly, and holds bi-annual meet-and-greets for YPIN members
interested in board membership. For more information about serving
on the YPIN board, please email resume and specific areas of interest
to ypin@world-affairs.org.

"Where
else would you meet, as I recently did at a YPIN event, an independent
filmmaker, a stockbroker, the director of Seattle’s All Nations
Cup (a local soccer tournament patterned after the World Cup), a
T-Mobile software developer, a former rock star who now runs a startup
nonprofit, an international business student at Seattle University,
and an entrepreneur who runs his own import company"
